GOVERNMENT AIMS TO ENHANCE LIVE OF EVERY CITIZEN IN NGORONGORO DISTRICT - NCAA

By a Special Correspondent.
The Government, through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA), has expressed its commitment to improving the lives of residents in the district by educating and relocating those who voluntarily register to move to Msomera Village in Handeni, Tanga Region, and other areas across the country.

Addressing the residents of Ngorongoro District throughout the phases of education, relocation, and registration, Mr. Hamis Dambaya, the acting Public Relations Manager of the authority, affirmed that the ongoing endeavor to enlighten residents will persist.

Its aim remains stanch to ensure the voluntary relocation of every inhabitant of the Ngorongoro District.

He reassured the residents that the government's aim is not to harm them by encouraging relocation from the conservation area.

Rather, it acknowledges that by choosing to move, they can enhance their lives in different places of their preference, while also securing their safety from the wildlife in the conservation area.

"You live in challenging conditions, especially due to the lack of freedom to enter and exit the conservation area, as well as the fear of dangerous animals, which pose a threat to livestock and some residents. The government has made the right decision to encourage you to have better and freer lives outside the conservation area," said Mr. Dambaya.

He emphasized that the government is well-prepared to ensure that every resident who voluntarily agrees to move out of the conservation area receives all their legal entitlements, including a sum of ten million shillings for those moving to Msomera and fifteen million shillings for those relocating to other areas. These funds are provided as incentives by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.

He encouraged the residents to ignore the misleading messages from certain politicians and activists who do not have their best interests at heart.

These individuals are urging them to stay within the conservation area, while they and their families enjoy life in different towns across the country, you need to be watchful.

"Do not be deceived by people with malicious intentions who are urging you to stay within the conservation area. Choose voluntarily to move to Msomera Village and other areas where social services have been improved for your future and that of your descendants,"

Mr. Dambaya said. During this visit to Ngorongoro District, the mobilization team visited various households in Naiyobi, Kapenjiro, and Endulen villages, where several residents were educated and agreed to relocate voluntarily, subsequently registering for the exercise.
